Who am I?
Hello! My name is Carrie Rice, and I am a pet sitter in the Huntsville/Madison County, Alabama area!
I specialize in cat sitting because I have lots of experience caring for cats, and I understand their specific needs. Some may even call me a cat whisperer. My clients are mainly located in the cities of Huntsville and Madison. I currently have six kitties at my home out in Madison County. I also volunteer as the social media and fundraising manager for Cattyshack, Inc., a local cat lounge at Lowe Mill Arts & Entertainment. You may see me there from time to time crawling around on the floor with my camera!
I also have my own art studio in room 1048 at Lowe Mill - right next door to Cattyshack! You're welcome to visit me there if you'd like to meet before hiring me or allowing me into your home. I am usually there on Fridays and Saturdays between 12 noon and 7 pm. I can also provide pet sitting references if you'd like to know more about me as a sitter! I'm happy to answer any questions you may have as well.
Carrie, do you sit dogs too?
I tend to focus on cats because I have more experience with them, and I feel there is a need for in-home cat care. However, I am open to sitting small dogs on a case by case basis. I don't have as much experience with them, but I do love all animals and want them to have the best care possible! I am not able to handle larger breeds however, due to health constraints. I also prefer not to walk dogs on leashes. If your dog has a fenced-in area in the yard that is fine.
I also have some experience with small pets in cages or tanks.
I've taken care of everything from chinchillas to crabs!

Starting July 01, 2026:
Any job costing $60 or less must be paid up front. Any job costing more than $60 will require a deposit of at least 50% of your total to schedule a sitting appointment.
I currently use Square's invoicing system with all clients. All invoices will be emailed to the address on file.
Cash payments will still be accepted, but I no longer accept personal checks as of December 31, 2021.

Cancelations must be made at least 24 hours before the first scheduled visit in order to receive a refund of your deposit. Any clients canceling a visit after the 24 hour period will not receive a deposit refund.
Rescheduling:
If travel needs to be rescheduled, clients are required to contact Rocket Kitty Sitting as soon as possible with new travel dates. The client's initial deposit will count toward the new dates. Rocket Kitty Sitting reserves the right to cancel sitting services if the new travel dates create conflict with other client visits.
